Your standard engine is no slouch on the Sierra 2500HD. You'll find a 6.6-liter V8 gas engine here, which is capable of producing as much as 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. This gives you enough power to handle up to 14,500 pounds of conventional towing and a maximum payload capacity of 3,760 pounds.

For many of our Knoxville customers, this would be enough, but for those of you who are looking for all the power you can get, we recommend choosing the 6.6-liter V8 turbodiesel engine. This beast provides up to 445 horsepower and a whopping 910 pound-feet of torque. It's no wonder that your towing capacity with this engine can reach as much as 18,500 pounds.

Where many trucks are happy to give you a stripped-down cabin, the GMC Sierra 2500HD provides a range of premium comforts and conveniences. For example, you can get heating elements in the steering wheel and front seats, as well as ventilated front seats on the top trims. Plus, taller drivers will have plenty of room thanks to the Crew Cab's best-in-class 43 inches of head room and 44.5 inches of legroom.

Of course, you also have plenty of space to store tools, equipment, valuables and more. Storage options include rear seat storage, rear under-seat storage, a console-mounted safe accessory and rear-folding split bench seating in the back.

It's hard to go wrong with GMC's excellent infotainment system. On the lower trims, you can access it through the 7-inch touchscreen display, while higher trims upgrade to an 8-inch display. Regardless of trim level, though, you'll get Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™ and Bluetooth® audio streaming, allowing you to listen to your favorite music or a great new podcast on your drives through Newport, TN.

Of course, upgrading to a higher trim level comes with several infotainment benefits. You can gain SiriusXM® satellite radio and HD Radio™, and top trims give you wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. When you combine this with the optional wireless charging pad, you won't have to worry about keeping a tangled cable in your truck. Plus, the seven-speaker Bose® audio system is a fantastic upgrade to your listening experience.

Just because it's a truck doesn't mean that the GMC Sierra 2500HD doesn't prioritize your continual safety. When you're towing a tall trailer, you won't have to worry about not being able to see behind you thanks to the available Transparent Trailer View camera. There are more camera views to help with towing, too, such as the close-up Hitch View and Rear Top-Down View. Altogether, you can enjoy as many as 15 different camera views to help you navigate Jefferson City safely and securely.

You can also expect the usual driver-assist options, including:

  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Front and Rear Park Assist
  • Automatic Emergency Braking
  • Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert

Trim Levels

The GMC Sierra 2500HD is available in five different trim levels:

  • Pro

Whether you're looking for a truck for your next job or a capable DIY companion, the Sierra 2500HD is a terrific option to consider. We encourage you to visit our showroom at Rusty Wallace GMC to check it out for yourself and take a test drive down Morristown.
