We've got the chance to get a teaser of the new 2023 GMC Canyon ATX4, and we are more than excited to uncover more. This will be the second model in the GM brand to acquire the AT4X trim that we initially saw on the 2022 GMC Sierra at the start of the year. GM didn't give too much away on the details of this upcoming truck, but they did mention its off-road capabilities, which we can see judging by the picture that was leaked online. GM was quoted saying:
"The next-generation Canyon AT4X signals the next chapter for GMC's mid-size truck with the teaser previewing the Canyon AT4X's badging, rocker protectors, and 17-inch Beadlock-capable wheels."
The GMC Canyon AT4X is assumed to be built similarly to the Chevy Silverado ZR2, including the MultiMatic DDSV dampers, skid plates on the front and underbody, and rock rails. However, the interior and exterior are getting a new makeover we haven't seen with GMC yet, along with a turbocharged 2.7-liter I-4 L3B engine that we can see in the Sierra 1500. This can almost guarantee that the Canyon AT4X will have a booming rate of 310 horsepower and 348 pound-feet of torque.
Coming Summer 2022
We're expecting the 2023 GMC Canyon AT4X to premiere this summer, which is perfect timing for an adventurous family who wants to take their water sports equipment to the Tennessee River in Knoxville or the Cherokee Lake in Jefferson. If you're not the adventurous type or like to focus on personal and professional projects, then transporting material from Newport will be a breeze for those looking to upgrade their truck to an ATX4.
Stay Tuned!
We'll be eager to stock the newest addition to the family after its debut, so keep an eye out for the latest news and updates. What do you think? Are you excited for the AT4X to arrive?
