We got a glimpse of what to expect for the 2023 GMC Canyon headlights, grille, and trim. Although covered by a sheath, we see an idea of what the model will look like with a minimal view of the prototype. From what we can tell, the 2023 GMC Canyon will feature a grille made up of horizontal slats – starting thinner at the top and tapering down with thicker slats, giving it a more modern look that closely resembles the Denali mesh.

Additional Features

Emphasizing that modern look are the headlights, which we can see are LED and designed vertically – similar to the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. This contrasts with the previous Canyon model, which hosts a horizontal lighting structure and a square headlight. As for the trim, we can tell the 2023 model was given a more rugged yet modern look due to the grille, lights, new Bridgestone Dueller A/T RH-S rubber tires, and a sleek bumper with plenty of clearance for off-roading. However, the running boards on the truck's sides seem to be a bit awkward on a rough terrain vehicle. Nonetheless, the trim gives us the perfect balance of durability, practicality, and modernity.

News & Information

The GM Wentzville plant in Missouri will be further working on the prototype, including a revised interior and an upgraded edition of the GMT31XX platform. A single power station option under the hood is said to be the turbocharged 2.7-liter I4 L3B engine powered by gasoline, and updated body panels look to be in the works. This kind of power will appeal to Knoxville and Newport residents looking for the torque they need to haul their toys to and from the lakes and rivers.
